Great Cockcrow Railway
How to find us …

By Car

Take junction 11 off the M25 (London Orbital motorway) and head west towards Woking. (Marked A320). At the first roundabout head for Chertsey. Pass the entrance to St. Peter's Hospital on the left . Take the next left (B386)  towards Windlesham then immediately right into Hardwick Lane. The GCR is around 1/4 mile on the right past Hardwick Farm. If you reach Almers Lane on the left you have gone too far !

Geographically the railway is halfway between junctions 11 and 12 of the M25 on the west side of the motorway.

By Train

Located on the Staines-Weybridge line, Chertsey station is the nearest railhead .  It has an hourly service each way on a Sunday. If the connection times are not favourable you may find it easier to get a taxi from Weybridge or Woking stations. . These stations are served by more frequent trains from London Waterloo.

Walking directions from Chertsey Station.

It will take about 30 minutes to walk to the GCR from Chertsey station. Exit from the main station building and turn right. Cross the level crossing and head along the Guildford Road towards Ottershaw and Woking. You will pass Sir William Perkins School on the right. Walk under the M25 motorway bridge and then take the next right. The footpath discontinues at this point. BEWARE OF FAST TRAFFIC.  Take the next right into Hardwick Lane for about half a mile. The GCR is on the right hand side.

By Bus

There are few Sunday buses in the Chertsey/Otershaw area. Please consult local timetables.
