Great Cockcrow Railway

By Car
Take
junction 11 off the M25 (London Orbital motorway) and head west towards Woking.
(Marked A320). At the first roundabout head for Chertsey. Pass the entrance
to St. Peter's Hospital on the left . Take the next left (B386)
towards Windlesham then immediately right into Hardwick Lane. The GCR is
around 1/4 mile on the right past Hardwick Farm. If you reach Almers Lane
on the left you have gone too far ! Geographically
the railway is halfway between junctions 11 and 12 of the M25 on the west
side of the motorway. By Train
Located on the Staines-Weybridge line, Chertsey station is
the nearest railhead . It has an
hourly service each way on a Sunday. If the connection times are not
favourable you may find it easier to get a taxi from Weybridge or Woking
stations. . These stations are served by more frequent trains from London
Waterloo. Walking directions from Chertsey Station. It will take about 30 minutes to walk to the GCR from
Chertsey station. Exit from the main station building and turn right. Cross
the level crossing and head along the Guildford Road towards Ottershaw and
Woking. You will pass Sir William Perkins School on the right. Walk under
the M25 motorway bridge and then take the next right. The footpath
discontinues at this point. BEWARE OF FAST TRAFFIC. Take the next right into Hardwick Lane
for about half a mile. The GCR is on the right hand side. By Bus
There are few Sunday buses in the Chertsey/Otershaw
area. Please consult local timetables.
